Change the Way You Function With One Simple Meal
One simple meal truly has the ability to change the way we function throughout the day. We’ve all heard it: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Sometimes we listen and sometimes we’re just too busy to give breakfast it’s due. If you’re like me, sometimes you find yourself running out the door in the morning, grabbing any sort of food that you can eat on the run. However, spending just a little bit of time putting together a quick, fulfilling, healthy breakfast can save you time, energy, and help you lose weight throughout the day.
Studies have shown that skipping breakfast can make weight control more difficult, hamper concentration and efficiency throughout the morning, and may also cause some people to store more body fat. Taking the time to eat a wholesome, nutritious morning meal will probably save you time in the long run. By recharging the brain and body, you’ll be more efficient in just about everything you do.
Sometimes I’m at a loss for a healthy, quick breakfast, so I asked my healthiest, most active, fittest friends what they do. Here are some ideas they shared:
- 2 eggs with cooked tomatoes
- Smoothie (These can even be made the night before!)
- Oatmeal or yogurt topped with fruit and nuts
- Breakfast toast with avocado, egg, salsa, turkey bacon (The possibilities are endless!)
