How Do I Get Started?

There a couple of ways to get started, you can visit our New Clients page for more information. You are welcome to give us a call at either location and our knowledgeable staff can help guide you. Lastly, you can just go for it, and sign-up for a class at a discounted price (see “New Clients “).


How Do I Sign-Up For A Class?

Sign up is easy! If you have a preferred location, select your locations schedule. Find the class you want to sign-up for and click on the “Sign-up” button next to your preferred day and time. You can also sign up for our monthly membership plan, and private or duet sessions. Alternatively, our friendly staff will be happy to help you sign up in our studio or over the phone.


What Do I Wear?

Choose attire that allows you to breathe, bend, stretch and that you feel comfortable in. Fitted clothing is helpful so the teacher can assess your form.

We require non-slip socks at all times while in the studio. You can bring in your own or we have non-slip socks for rent or purchase.

Also, please refrain from using perfume or strongly-scented lotions as some individuals have allergies to these products and the oils can stain the equipment.


It’s my first time, what should I know about class?

Practical Steps Every Client Should Know

  1. Book a class online, after each class, or give us a call.
  2. Arrive 10 minutes early for your first class to check-in at the front desk and fill out registration paperwork.
  3. Dress appropriately: Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothing. For your safety, we do require non-slip socks which are available for purchase or rent.
  4. Feel free to bring a water bottle and towel.
  5. Remove your shoes before entering the studio area. In the studio lobby we have storage for you to leave your shoes.
  6. Turn off your cell phone.
  7. Visit Our Offerings page to see class levels, Getting Familiar classes are appropriate for beginners.
  8. Notify the teacher of injuries or medical conditions. This helps the teacher know how to assist you and give you modifications.
  9. Practice often and above all have fun!

What Is Gyrotonic®?

The Gyrotonic® Method uses specialized equipment that permits one to move with support and resistance. Gyrotonic® exercise sequences are intended to increase the functional capacity of the entire organism in a harmonious way. This method embraces key principles also found in swimming, dance, yoga, tai chi, and gymnastics, and emphasize continuous, flowing movements, synchronized with corresponding breath patterns.

Some of the benefits that may be gained by practicing the Gyrotonic® are increased circulation; cardiovascular stimulation; increased mobility of the joints; stimulation, and strengthening of the nervous system; mobilization of the spine; improved sense perception; greater balance, and flow of energy; and improved coordination.


How Do I Cancel A Class?

Since you signed up for the class online, you can just as easily cancel the class online. It merely takes a minute. Simply login to your account by clicking on the “Login” button, find the class you would like to cancel and click “Cancel”. Please read our Cancellation Policy, 24 hours notice is required for cancellations.


Can I Do Pilates If I Have An Injury?

The short answer is yes Pilates can help with recovery from many injuries. But for that to occur we first need to know about your injury so we may guide you towards the appropriate session. If you’re injured, we kindly request you speak with us before signing up for a class or session. We will guide you to an appropriate class and ensure you are working with an instructor who is trained to handle your specific injury. Depending on the severity of the injury, you may need to do private sessions to begin.

Cancellation Policy

Please provide us at least 24 hours notice should you need to re-schedule or cancel your appointment. We do charge in full for cancellations made within 24 hours and for missed appointments. You can cancel one of two easy ways: online at www.bluesparrowpilates.com, or by phone at (415) 398-4425.

Since we are a small business, it is difficult for us to make exceptions to this policy, and we appreciate your understanding of this. That being said, if you do have an emergency, please let us know so that we can treat your situation with personal attention.

Late Cancellations for Monthly Unlimited Package Holders
Because Monthly Unlimited Packages allow you to sign up for a class every day, we charge a $20 Late Cancel and No-Show fee for any no-show or late cancellation.
Our classes only allow 5 participants, so this is necessary for us to ensure you are signing up only for classes you plan to attend.

Studio Policies

We require non-slip socks at all times while in the studio.

Package Share Policy

To give you more flexibility in package purchases, group class, private, and duet packages may be shared between two family members or friends.

Payment Due at Time of Service

For all sessions, payment is expected at the time of the appointment or in advance of your appointment time. We currently accept check, cash, & Visa, Mastercard, American Express.

Online Scheduling

Book appointments and make payments online through our online scheduling system.

Group Instructors may be substituted without notice.

Late Arrivals

Since we’re here to help – not harm – you, you won’t be permitted to take a class if you arrive 15 minutes past the start time. For your safety, we want to ensure you are properly warmed-up at all times.

Fragrance Free-Zone

Please refrain from using perfume or strongly-scented lotions as some individuals have allergies to these products.

Mobile phones

We ask that you help us maintain a focused and peaceful environment by refraining from using cell phones during your visit.

All purchases including Promotional Packages are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Socks, apparel, course materials, DVD, props, and accessory purchases are final sales.
